Love / Hate
Lately since I’ve been given this post here on Hater Central, I started to evaluate more things in my everyday life like “is that Hate worthy material?”. But I also realized that there is a flipside….everything shouldn’t be about hate and there are somethings that I actually love. So I present a list that I’ve compiled with a few things that I love and a few things that I hate (maybe not hate, but strongly dislike). Feel free to peruse my list and love or hate as you see fit
LOVE: Michigan Hip-Hop
If you live in Michigan right now this one should be self explanatory. I mean who could deny that right now Michigan is the home of some the dopest artists in hip-hop period! Don’t believe me? We got:
14KT, Buff1, Black Milk, Don Juan, P.L., Slot-A, Athletic Mic League, Jay Fab, BETA, Danny Brown, Big A, Invincible, Finale, Miz Korona, Marvwon, Royce da 5’9, Kid Vishis, RideOut, Octane & Illite, Big Sean, Blackreign & Ohkang, Tasherre D Enajetic, BoogBrown, Mystique, House Shoes, Now On, DJ Graffiti, Magestik Legend, OneBeLo, Fat Ray, Illa J, Slum Village, Phat Kat, Guilty Simpson, Nametag, Elzhi, Tree City, Zhao-Ski, Fes Roc, The Lab Techs, DJ Benny Ben, Yoshi, Asylum 7, AKA, Paradime, P.H.I.L.T.H.Y, Nick Speed, Trick Trick…and this is just me rattling names off the top of my head. I won’t even get into the vocalists we have like Melanie Rutherford and Monica Blaire. Add all this with websites like MichiganHipHop.com and A-Side Worldwide and its plain to see the Mitten has hip-hop on lock.
HATE: Charles Hamilton
While I’m talkin about hip-hop I figured I’d address the current “oh this guy is so dope, you just don’t see it” guy of the moment. Honestly, I just don’t get it (and no I’m not excercising my love of Michigan hip-hop bias). I had been hearing how dope this guy was for so long that I actually went looking for his music just to see what all the hype was about. I found The Pink Lavalamp, got Death of the Mixtape Rapper, I listened to Brooklyn Girls, and even listened to the little diss joint he had towards Soulja Boy…and I still don’t get it! I’ll apologize to all the crazed CH fans who believe that he’s future of hip-hop before I say this, but dude is just aiight (sorry). He’s like an average rapper who appears to be excellent (to some people) amongst all the garbage currently flooding the airwaves. Then I see the above video of this guy talking crazy about one of the best MC’s ever (Radio LL, not Exit 13 LL) and I’m really done with the whole Charles Hamilton experience.
LOVE: Scion Socks
I already know what some of you are saying and YES I SAID SCION SOCKS!!! (as in Scion vehicles) You won’t understand until you actually wear a pair of these just how comfortable they are. These socks to put it plainly are THE TRUTH! Only bad thing about them is I only know one way of obtaining a pair of em and that’s to show up at Elevation Sundays in Ann Arbor and hope they’re giving em away that night. Shouts out to my scion sock connect DJ Graffiti. And for the record, no thats not me in the video but I have been known to publicly do a very similar dance upon receiving two pairs of scion socks for my birthday.
HATE: Beyonce’s I Am…Sasha Fierce
Wow…where do I start?! I won’t claim to be Beyonce’s biggest fan, but I have enjoyed her music and own both of her first two releases. When I saw she was dropping a double album I was already skeptical but I’m thinking “hey it’s Beyonce, gotta check it out”. Whoa! To my surprise Beyonce has become Celine Dion hooked on folk music and found time to drop her own “A Milli” remix a.k.a. Diva. Sorry B can’t get my $15 bucks this go ’round but if I find myself building a house of shit I’ll be sure to use copies of this album as roof shingles (What? It’s Hater Central….come on).
LOVE: Burn Rubber Fitted Hats
My whole fitted-hat buying adult life I always vowed never to wear a fitted hat that didn’t bear the logo of an MLB franchise. Something about seeing NFL and NBA logos on fitteds just looks wack to me…maybe because NFL and NBA players don’t actually wear fitted hats on their respective fields of play, but there’s just something about Burn Rubber hats that are so dope to me. I don’t know if its the actual logo or the fact that New Era is letting people come out with their own special lines of fitted hats, either way I love these joints. I’m definitely looking to get more of these hats in the near future and if you don’t already have one you need to get to Burn Rubber ASAP!
HATE: Any man dumb enough to still mess with Karrine Steffans a.k.a. Superhead
I mean really everybody already knows her modus operandi:
- Find rich/famous man
- Perform “super” fellatio upon said rich/famous man
- Write book / post YouTube video exposing said rich/famous man under the guise of “empowering young women and showing them whatever you do in life don’t let it be for nothing…..blah blah blah”
So if we all know how this woman operates why do men continue to bed this slore?! Seriously, she’s already 2 books deep in whoredom not to mention the numerous YouTube videos of her absolutely idiodic rants. She goes on Oprah one day and pretends to the be the reformed Mother Teresa of the hip-hop video model world then she goes on Jamie Foxx’s radio show and hits you with this:
Give me a break already! Then after all of her lunacy and exploits in sex and extreme fellatio, she’ll turn right around and say some stupid ish like “I should be respected as a woman”…lol really?! As a couple of her latest victims (Darius McCrary aka Eddie Winslow from Family Matters and Jermaine O’ Neal of NBA fame) found out the hard way this chick will put you on blast with no remorse. I really wish people would just let this chick fade into the background so her 15 minutes of fame can finally be up.

I didn’t give a fuck about Charles Hamilton’s music at first, but once I actually listened, I enjoyed it – homie’s hooks are fantastic to me, and I like Brooklyn Girls a lot. But I can understand why people don’t like him.
Yeah, that new Beyonce sucks. Disappointing, because she’s actually a lot more talented than people lead her on to be.
Karrine Steffans pisses me off, too. I actually read/listened to much of her first book, and I could agree with it also being a cautionary tale – it showed the good, and it showed the bad. But when you do something like come out with a second book that’s praising all the bullshit that your first book was cautionary about, then that fucks shit up. And when you disrespect yourself – and other people – with your books, you can’t expect people to respect you. So that’s what makes me upset about her. Just do one or the other – either embrace your lifestyle and the treatment that you get for it, or change it up to get treated differently.
